Commercial quality (CQ) rubber sheeting & Insertion rubber
For day to day general use, commercial rubber sheeting is used. It is the cheapest form of rubber sheet, available in many different thicknesses & can be supplied with a fabric "insertion" to improve tear strength. Commercial rubber is used for gaskets & strips & in most cases is reasonable for most areas of application but generally not excellent. When certain criteria need to be met ie oil resistance or high temperature or high abrasion then the rubbers listed on the pages following come into their own for their individual properties.
