Rubber Sheeting
Rubber is an extremely versatile material with excellent sealing capabilities, however it is important to note that rubber can vary greatly in terms of performance and quality.
For day to day general use, commercial rubber sheeting is used. It is the cheapest form of rubber sheet, available in many different thicknesses & can be supplied with a fabric "insertion" to improve tear strength for gaskets & strips & in most cases is reasonable for most areas of application but generally not excellent. When certain criteria need to be met ie oil resistance or high temperature or high abrasion then the rubbers listed below come into their own for their individual properties.
Specification Rubber is made to exacting standards as outlined in BS1154, BS2751, BS2752, BS5400, BS921 etc. for example if a rubber must be of a consistent hardness roll after roll, year in year out then spec rubber is the only way to guarantee this as it is made to the exact same recipe each & every time.
The list below can be used as a guide to identify the most suitable rubber for each application but please call us to ensure specific criteria is met.
